Jakarta Scout Check Year End Forum 2025

SPICING UP EXPLORATION POTENTIAL ALONG THE BANDA ARC.

Ascendience Geoscience represented by our Chief Geologist, Dr Mark Lisk, had the great pleasure of contributing a presentation to the Jakarta Scout Check Year End Forum in Bandung on our ground-breaking work in Timor Leste and implications for future de-risking of exploration opportunities along the Banda Arc from Timor Barat (West Timor) to the Birdshead and Papua Barat (West Papua). 2000km of lightly explored margin that is dotted with Giant gas fields from Abadi to Tangguh. Our application of fluid inclusion methods to fully constrain charge history coupled with application of a refined structural model to better constrain reactivation risk in Timor Leste and across the Australasian Super-basin offers the potential to re-rate exploration potential across adjoining eastern Indonesia’s frontier basins.

Thanks to the fine efforts of the organisers this event offered great technical insights, engaging panel discussion and vibrant discussion among attendees. We hope we can contribute to future JSC meetings, joining this outstanding technical forum to discuss the ideas that will drive ongoing success across the basins of Indonesia. The generous support of the sponsors of the event is also gratefully acknowledged.

A copy of the Ascendience presentation of available for download from the following link Lisk JSC Presentation and we welcome questions of any aspect of our work. Ascendience has deep experience in the application of these techniques and we are open to discussion of future proprietary or multi-client projects to unlock new opportunities along the Banda Arc.
